Derek MacMillan | President & General Manager
With more than a decade of experience, a finance diploma from NAIT and mentorship from his father with over 40 years in the business, Derek has turned Mac Insurance into a strong and prosperous brokerage.
He tailors policies with confidence—from personal lines to life insurance and RRSPs. Armed with a vast understanding of the registry business, and the expertise to find solutions for anyone who needs his help, Derek truly cares about his clients and gives them peace of mind when working through their insurance and registry needs.
In his spare time, Derek enjoys volunteering with his local hockey league and staying active in his community. His hometown of St. Albert will always hold a special place in his heart.

I have been dealing with Mac Insurance since we moved to Edmonton in 2012. In each encounter with the team they have been extremely helpful, informative, and accommodating. We unfortunately had a basement flood in our house shortly after moving. Our agent at Mac Insurance was available to guide us through the process at 11 pm on a Friday night, even though he was at home with his family. An experience that is generally quite stressful and inconvenient was handled so well by the team at Mac Insurance that stress was not a factor.
